Loose Change Producer Korey Rowe Arrested

According to PrisonPlanet.Com, “Loose Change producer and Iraq and Afghanistan veteran Korey Rowe has been arrested and handed over to military officials without bail for allegedly ‘deserting the Army’.

According to a report in the New York Daily Star, Rowe was arrested on Monday night at a county Route 47 residence in Oneonta.”

Rowe was arrested on a “military warrant” that Devlin said was brought to the attention of deputies by the Oneonta Police Department, who received information from a source outside of that department.

Rowe was living at the Route 47 home, Devlin said.

City police officials who were able to comment on the case were unavailable Tuesday night.

After deputies received the information from Oneonta police, they reached out to the Army, and officials from Fort Knox faxed a copy of the warrant, deputies said.

“Arrests and court martials for deserters are incredibly rare and this appears to be an obvious case of political persecution as the Loose Change crew prepare the cinematic release of the final version of their popular documentary.” More…

Personally, I’d like to hear more about this from Sapper if he has a chance to view it and comment on it.  Also, I wonder if the military has a valid case Korey as a deserter.   (Did the military call him up without the correct address?  Heck, AT&T did that to me!)
According to Alex Jones, Korey had been released previously when they arrested him.  Is this a scare tactic?  Or is it retribution for producing another update on Loose Change?

I’d like to know your comments.

  1. I had no idea the guy had been in the military.

  2. This is screwed up :S

  3. Typically when someone has gone AWOL, or even been gone long enough to gain deserter status will not be court martialed. Usually they will be returned to Active Duty, Receive an Article 15 which reduces your rank to Private or pay grade E-1. Extra duty is usually added along with post restriction. It is quite obvious what their intentions are.
